Brahmanaspati 60 Jahre

Brihaspati (auch Brahmanaspati, “Herr des Gebets”), eine spätere Abstraktion der wedischen Götterlehre. Aus ihm ist der spätere Begriff des Brahma (s. d.) herausgebildet worden. Die spätere Mythologie weiß ausführlich von ihm und seiner Frau Tarâ zu erzählen. B. ist auch Name des Planeten Jupiter, nach welchem die indische Zeitrechnung nach Cyklen von 60 Jahren benannt ist.

He is considered the personification of piety and religion, and the chief 'offerer of prayers and sacrifices to the gods' (Sanskrit: Purohita), with whom he intercedes on behalf of humankind.
