NTRconnect for Remote Control and Support

Today seems to be the day of Remote Control Software.
Right now at a clients site the firewall rules for Remote Desktop seem to have changed - we have there some kiddy admins from the mother company hacking around... ;-) - so after speaking to another admin he told me that...

There is a tool which is easy to use and can go around firewalls - even without skype (They seem to use their own hosted gateways).

He told me that it's free, but I can only read about 30 day demo. So let's see and also try out this one. The pro version also offers "Advanced keycard security".

Update
The Testdrive with ntrconnect.com was a full success. Where Timbuktu failed (due to somedetails I andthesupport hotline could not work out ina short time period), I could switch one teleworker with success to ntrconnect.com.

The Software is first installed on the office PC, and it is now easy to handle for the teleworker to connect to his/her office pc in 2 easy steps:

1. Login to http://ntrconnect.com/ (will redirect to https SSL encrypted page)

2. Select the PC to remote control - enter the password for this PC, finished!

What happens in the background:
Each time you connect to the webinterface, slect a PC and enter the password a ntrconnect.exe with a unique session is created and downloaded to your PC. If it is executed, you get access to the remote PC. After the end of the Remote Control Session, the .exe gets deleted automatically.

(with firefox browser this meant for me two additional clicks to download the ntrconnect.exe, Internet Explorer 6 just swallowed and executed it)

As an additional feature they have something called 'keycard'. This is not such a magic token hardware-card like someone could expect. It is a simple Transaction Number List that you are asked at specific actions. That's a very nice feature in addition to the password-1 on the webinterface level and the password-2 at the PC level.

Bottom line: Starting at 30 USD this will be my new Remote Control and Remote Teaching platform in the next months to come. quote.
