openmoko Open Source Phone
Apples iphone is a nice product. But the big companies allways try to force their users in ways of licensing and contracts. Mobile phone vendors and the "transmitter mast" companies often play hand in hand.
For human beings that have watch out for open technology and more possibilities, an interesting Open Source Project exists. The OpenMoko GSM phone software.
The Neo1973 is the first phone designed to run OpenMoko.
Very similar to the new models like the iphone, the Neo1973 phone user interface is based mainly on a big touch-screen.
The first version for endusers should come in October 2007 and will work with all GSM networks worldwide.
