Trilead announces the release of VM Explorer 3.0.018

The new main feature of VM Explorer 3.0 is the support for incremental backups.

To keep track of the changes of your virtual machine, VM Explorer uses the VMWare VD Interface* (requires ESX/ESXi 4.0 or newer, does not work with the ESXi free edition) - This has several advantages:

- Faster and more stable backups thanks to the official VMWare API
- Incremental Backups are now possible
- Thin disks will be backed up only using the used space
- Inremental Restores are possible (restore backup only to a certain date)

The incremental backup feature will create an initial full backup, after this, only changes will be saved. Currently the backup target has to be a local disk on the server where VM Explorer is running. New functionality on the VD interface will be released in the next versions of VM Explorer.

In addition support for ESX/ESXi versions 4.1.0.320092 and 4.1.0.320137 has been added.
